January 24th

Champion, Trailblazer, Brother, & Helper. That’s what Jesus is to us. These titles flow from Hebrews 2:5-18. They will lift your spirit and comfort your soul, especially if you find yourself under siege from life – a lot like those who sat for that very first reading of the Letter to Hebrews. We don’t just treat the theology of this letter, we look at life behind the theology and see how people who were beat down by life and beat up by circumstance could find new hope to go on. Don’t miss a great time together.

Family Matters

When we look at our overall December giving, it was a little low. We had three projects going and and when those are included, our finances were in the ballpark. However, when we take those projects out, our giving for overall ministry was only 73% of December 2014 giving. Overall our freewill giving is down by about 7%. We’re looking seriously at these figures as we look to the next few months but in the meantime, here’s how you can help.

  1. If you have never committed to CEFC on a regular giving plan, consider getting on board. An automatic monthly giving plan builds consistency. We have online options on our website. Joining in the Lord’s work is a great joy.
  2. If you are a regular supporter and can participate more, please consider a special gift or a boost to your regular giving. We can erase this deficit! If your situation dictates that you can’t, the Lord knows and we understand! But we can all stand together in prayer that the ministry will move with the finances we need to support it.

Business Meeting – 1/31 @ 6 PM

We have lots of news to share and will have updates about our Chapelcity Roll Out Celebration and our Visioning Team. We will also have updates regarding where we stand financially. With seven new members coming in it will be a good chance to welcome them and to rejoice in God’s blessing here. Make plans to attend, whether you’re a member or not!

I believe that tomorrow’s study is one that combine a tremendous appreciation for Jesus Christ and gathering resources for grinding problems we face. I pray you will make a special effort to join with us.

In Christ,
Jim
