May 8th – Tough Love – Hebrews 12:7-13

Making a choice when we seem to have no choice doesn’t make a lot of sense, but that is what we talk about Sunday. How are we going to survive these hardships, let alone win over them. We’re going to explore these themes Sunday Our passage winds up talking about overcoming feeble hands, weak knees and treacherous paths that we walk. We will be challenged to not just to grin and bear it, but to fix it. It’s an intriguing theme that doesn’t hover in the clouds, it hits us right where we live. Take a few moments and read this important passage. Start from verse 1 and get your heart ready for Sunday.

Join us for a Mothers Day reception on Sunday

Tom Glenn is once again heading up a delicious reception to honor all the moms. They do so much for us, be sure to join this great celebration between services.

Presence Sunday

Learning about creating fun, simple, imaginative opportunities to enhance the presence of Jesus in Old Town is what Presence Sunday is all about. Presenting a public face for Chapel City Church and participating in relationships with our neighbors on the boulevard will help transform us from a nice building people pass by to an inviting oasis where people can worship with us and grow in their relationship with Christ. Be in service as Cara Shelton plants the vision and seeks to build an effective team.

Help Student Ministries fund the Romania Team

Our students are on a mission to fund a mission. Bring your aluminum cans and plastic bottles to the high school room or to Patrick’s office and help them send student ministries staff member Megan Tabor to Romania. Let’s help our students join the team!

Mark your calendars for our annual meeting on May 22nd

We’ll meet Sunday evening May 22nd at 6 pm to look at the year gone by, meet new members, take care of some business, and catch up on what’s happening at Chapel City Church. There are a couple of important reports you won’t want to miss so be sure to be there with us.

Special Announcement:

Wayne Brueckner and John Price will be presented for ratification to serve as elders for the 2016 – 2019 term.

When we talk about hardships, we should not minimize their impact on our lives or trivialize their influence on our walk with God. Be in prayer that God will use this message to speak to all of us.

In Christ,
Jim
