LISTENING EVEN WHEN IT HURTS

Listening When It Hurts is a painful experience, especially when it comes from a friend. We would much rather hear the words that reinforce our current course, even if the person speaking doesn’t have our best interests at heart. Sunday in Galatians 4:8-20 we’ll see some principles that will help all of us when we need to listen through the pain instead of running away. It’s a crucial theme that demands God’s wisdom if we are to do it right.
We’ll also have a great time as we get ready for our personal prayer vigils for our VBS, and next week for our high school students. Be sure you read the article below. I’m praying that before and after the service there will be a regular flow of people gathered around the materials “altar” on the platform praying for this vital ministry following the prayer guides we’ll have. Be ready for a great Sunday.

BE A PART OF THE VBS TEAM

We’re on a countdown for our VBS (June 19-23). We’re building a team and we want you to be on it. Here’s how:
Be a volunteer and be active in recruiting kids. Buy materials & deliver them to the “altar” in the sanctuary. Your gifts to God will make a difference in kids’ lives. Commit to pray following the VBS Prayer Guide you’ll receive Sunday. All this week and next we’re bathing this ministry in prayer. As this great concert of prayer rises to God, we want to see lives eternally changed. Be a part of the team.

SHARING GOD’S GRACE
It’s Show and Tell Time!

I was blessed this week when a friend peeked into my office and said, “Do you want to hear a miracle?” The next 15 minutes were a reminder of God’s work to answer prayers in everyday life. It blew me away to hear that story! If we forget to praise God and give others the faith-building blessing of praising with us, we lose the faith-building praise that God so deserves. Look at your life and you will see God’s hand. Email Patrick at patrick.murphy@chapelcity.church so we can all benefit. We want to be an encouragement to one another and see God’s hand here at Chapel City!

God is moving in great ways in our journey through Galatians. With you here to learn, to pray, and to praise, it promises to be a great day in the Lord. Make a point to be in service on Sunday and you won’t be disappointed.

In Christ,
