Wayne Brueckner

I have been attending Chapel City since 1977. My wife, Brenda, and I have been married for 30 years and we have four children and four grandchildren with another on the way. I am currently serving on the board of elders. Brenda and I are very involved with church facilities, Rejoice Chapel City, and the Sunday morning coffee ministry.

My wife, Kristen, and I have been coming to the church for 12 years and members for 11 years. We have been married for 15 years and have two daughters, Rebecca age 11 and Elizabeth age 6. We are involved in our Sunday small group, AWANA, information screen and leadership. In my spare time you will find me in my garage making things from wood.

Steve Hagberg

My wife Laurie and I have been members at Chapel City for going on 15 years now. I have been active in the Body Builders ABF group most of that time. We have two adult sons, Jonathan and Geoffrey. I am a teacher at Oaks Christian High School filling a number of classroom assignments. I am a voracious reader and sometime PC gamer in my spare time at home.

David Holden

I have been attending Chapel City since I moved to Ventura county in April of 1976. Karen and I married after she graduated in April of 1978 so both of us have been here over 40 years. We have four children and four grandchildren. I have served on the board of elders at least 6 times starting in the 80’s when Pastor Jim first arrived. I am currently Presiding Elder. Over the years I was very involved in AWANA, and later a college ministry here in the early 2000’s. We currently attend an ABF and Small Group. Karen has been involved in Women’s Ministries and now heads up Mom to Mom.

Walter Lopatka

I have been attending Chapel City church since 2002. I am married to Susan, and we have five kids, ages 9 to 18. We plugged in through the Bereans ABF (and now Beacon), so ABFs/Small Groups are precious to me. I direct our AWANA clubs and have participated in Children’s ministries for the past 20 years. I have a passion to see others know our God more deeply and truly. Outside of church I work as a software engineering manager at DDN Storage in Chatsworth, enjoy spending time with my family, and find some time to read good books when I get the chance.

Charlie Rutledge

My wife Tami and our three daughters began plugging into this church 25 years ago, and we have been involved in many areas of ministry. We enjoyed working in virtually all aspects of children’s ministry and AWANA, Women’s and Men’s Ministry, Missions, and even music. I am a graduate of Los Angeles Baptist College (now Master’s University). I started my married life as a youth pastor 40 years ago, and have worked in various leadership roles over the years, serving as Chairman of the Missions Committee, Men’s Ministry, and the Elder Board. Currently my primary ministry is to my wife and encouraging men one on one. As to vocation, I work with Showcase Kitchens and Baths helping design and produce home remodeling projects. My passion is to see believers grow in their faith and therefore their ability to glorify God in their daily lives.

My husband, Zachary, and I have been members of Chapel City since 2010. We have two sets of boy/girl twins ages 2 and 7. We led the Berean small group for several years and now take an active roll in teaching and promoting events within the group. Zack plays in the worship band and helps with AWANA. I have been active in Mom to Mom and children’s ministries. I have been blessed to be able to stay home full-time for almost two years now. Before that, I spent 11 years working at Pepperdine University. Outside of this, I love listening to audiobooks, writing handwritten letters, and baking!

Tim Spence

My wife Amy and I have been attending Chapel City since 2000. We have been blessed with four daughters. We are involved with the Beacon ABF and are also involved with AWANA and children’s ministries. I have a career with the Oxnard Fire Dept. and outside of church our time is largely spent in the raising and involvement in our daughters’ lives. Our marriage is fulfilled and deepened by our love for Christ and each other.
