The Light Shines in the Darkness

I read recently that some people thought it strange, even unhealthy that Jesus actually communicates with people today. Two things came to mind: one is “How sad is that?” to be so completely on your own that you have no resources beyond yourself to give you guidance, support, comfort, and direction. The other is how far away from reality it is to think that one cannot have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Sunday we look at John 1:1-14 to see how Jesus not only illuminates our path to God, his light also gives clarity to all that we see in the world around us. You won’t want to miss this important message!

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, the gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:9-13)
