A Superior Sacrifice

A Superior Sacrifice

Welcome to Chapel City Church! The author of Hebrews has spent the whole middle of the book outlining how the New Covenant is better than the Old Covenant. The New Covenant means a better priesthood. Jesus is a high priest superior to any of Aaron’s sons under the Law. The New Covenant means a better work has been done in a better tabernacle. The finished work of Jesus Christ was consummated in the heavenly dwelling of the majesty of God, and not just in an earthly shadow like the tabernacle. This week, we will open chapter 10 and examine the superior sacrifice of the New Covenant. But what makes the Old Covenant inferior? What did it do, and what could it never do? How is the sacrifice of Jesus better, and why does it matter? We would love the opportunity to answer any questions that you have, or to know how we can be praying for you!

But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Hebrews 10:3-4
