Faith of the Fathers, part 1: The Faith of Abraham

Welcome to Chapel City Church! As we continue to move through Hebrews 11 in the coming weeks, we are going to encounter the lives of the patriarchs. These are the founders and pillars of the Jewish people and culture. Remember that the audience is being pulled back toward the law, toward the old way, toward abandoning their hope in Christ for what is familiar and acceptable. Any argument that says Jesus is better must deal with the giants of Hebrew history. And just like we have seen in the first few verses, our author is going to show that they were approved and accepted by their faith. But, what did faith drive Abraham and Sarah to do? Was their faith always mature and strong? And what are we supposed to do with these historical examples?
