Family Wisdom, part 2

Welcome to Chapel City Church! Two weeks ago we started to look at Family Wisdom from the Book of Proverbs. God, in his wisdom and grace, has given us the pattern for marriage and family that brings glory to Him and good to His people. This week we will work through Proverbs dealing with parents. Parenting is a difficult topic for a number of reasons. Our pride tells us that no one can tell us how to raise our children except us. Our brokenness tells us that we are failing and can never meet the expectations of a godly parent. And, too often, our response is to push through the challenges of parenting in our own wisdom and in our own strength. But God’s word tells us that there is a better way. The blessing of parenting isn’t blotted out by our own shortcomings or the response of our children. It is a calling that we are strengthened and equipped for by the power of the Spirit and the wisdom of the word.
