Fear & Faith: A Tale of Two Mountains

Fear & Faith: A Tale of Two Mountains

Welcome to Chapel City Church! We know that the consistent message of the Book of Hebrews has been that Jesus is better. Earlier in the book, we saw that he was better than Moses, the lawgiver of Israel. Moses was a faithful steward in the house, but Christ is the builder of the house. This week we will see a comparison that brings us back to that time of Moses and the giving of the Law at Sinai. What was that event like? What were the people to do, and how would they respond? We need to understand that scene from Exodus 19 if we are going to rejoice in the greater promises of Jesus Christ. We have come to something better than the Law; a New Covenant that replaces fear with faith! We would love to answer any questions you have and to know how we can be praying for you specifically. Please reach out through a connection card, phone call, or email.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.   Hebrews 12:22-24
