Giving and Receiving Wisdom, part 1

Giving and Receiving Wisdom, part 1

Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are so glad that you have come to worship with us today! So far in the Book of Proverbs, we have worked to lay the foundation for our application. We know that wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. We know that wisdom comes from God through his word, and that in order to act wisely we must move in humility. This week we will begin looking at how wisdom is practically applied to our lives. To do that, we will start broadly. How do we give wisdom to others? As we live in community with other people in our homes, our workplaces, our friend groups, and our churches, how do we move into one another’s lives with wisdom? What is our motivation for sharing wisdom, and how do we give wisdom in a way that’s winsome and helpful? We would love the opportunity to answer any questions that you might have, and to know how we can be praying for you specifically.

The wise in heart will be called understanding,
And sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.
Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it,
But the discipline of fools is folly.
The heart of the wise instructs his mouth
And adds persuasiveness to his lips.
Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Proverbs 16:21-24
