Holiness & Humility at Home

Holiness & Humility at Home

Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are glad that you are here, and we would love to know how we can be praying for you. It’s our joy as a body to intercede before the Lord on each other’s behalf. As we come back to the Book of 1 Peter, we are going to open up chapter 3 and look at holiness and humility in the home. Peter has called on his audience to submit, for the Lord’s sake, to every human institution of authority. Some authority is distant, like a king or government far away. Some authority impacts your daily life, like a master or a boss. But some authority touches us at a heart level on a daily basis. What does it look like to live with humility at home? How are husbands and wives called to relate to one another to the glory of God? Can we still talk about submission without diminishing someone’s value? We would love to talk through any questions that you might have. We have a Sunday school class during second hour that covers application points for the Sunday sermon, or you can always reach out to us through phone or email.

In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior.
You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.          1 Peter 3:1-2,7
