Joy to the World

Welcome to Chapel City Church! During this third week of Advent, we light the candle of joy. Just like hope and peace that we have looked at over the past couple of weeks, joy can be a hard thing to come by. Usually, we settle for happiness that’s based on circumstances that are going the way that we think they should. But we know that real joy means more than that. Joy is the heart’s delighted response to the work of God in our lives. Sometimes, that means rejoicing in what we experience in the moment. Often, that joy is based on something that we still wait to see, but confidently expect because of God’s perfect faithfulness. So how do we think rightly about joy? What do we know and experience that brings us real joy, even in the waiting? We would love to know how we can be praying for you.
