Welcome to Chapel City Church! This week we open up chapter 11 of the Book of Hebrews. Chapter 10 closed with the call to endure suffering with hope. Jesus Christ is a treasure beyond anything we might lose in this temporary life. And the author reminded us that the righteous will live by faith. But what is faith? What does it look like and what does it produce? And how do we know that it’s possible to live faithfully when life is painful or difficult? Chapter 11 begins to answer those questions for us. We have a simple, powerful definition of faith. We are given the promise and the proof that faithful obedience is not only possible, but rewarded by God. So, in the weeks ahead, let’s be encouraged by the line of faithful men and women who have gone before us, steadfast in their hope, assured of their eternal possession.
