Milk or Meat

Welcome to Chapel City Church! This week we will jump back into the Book of Hebrews after our Advent break. Although we don’t know who wrote the book, we can sum up the theme in a single sentence: Jesus is better. He is the better word who is better than angels, better than Moses, and better than Joshua. He is a better high priest because he is a different kind of high priest. But before our author can move deeper into the wonderful high priesthood of Jesus Christ, he has to stop for another warning. The people that he’s writing to have not grown toward spiritual maturity like they should. Instead of an eager desire to grow and learn, they have become dull and slow. And the consequences are much more serious than they have imagined. But what does that have to do with us? Are we in danger of remaining in spiritual infancy? We would love to know how we can be praying for you, and to answer any questions that you might have. 

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. Hebrews 5:12
