Welcome to Chapel City Church. This week we turn to Palm Sunday and Jesus’ public entrance into Jerusalem. The crowds welcomed Him with praise, expecting a King who would bring justice and deliverance. And they were right, but not in the way they expected. He came not only as the Anointed King who brings justice, but also as the Anointed Prophet who confronts sin and the Anointed Priest who offers Himself in the place of those who deserve judgment. The surprising grace of Palm Sunday is this: the Judge who announces the verdict becomes the Substitute who bears it. As we walk through Mark’s account of Holy Week, we will consider what it means that Christ has come as King, Prophet, and Priest, and how we should respond when the King draws near.
And he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. Mark 11:11
