Welcome to Chapel City Church! This week we turn the page to chapter 12 in the Book of Hebrews. We have spent the last several weeks looking at faith in the lives of God’s people from generation to generation. Last week, our author reminded us that none of those faithful men and women received the fullness of God’s promise; the eternal hope that we join with them in waiting for. But that leaves us with a question- now what? If faith is what leads to our approval, and if God is always faithful, then how are we supposed to live in light of that? Chapter 12 begins to take all of the beautiful truths from the first 11 chapters and apply them to the life of a believer. Because Jesus, our great High Priest is the author and perfector of our faith, we can run the race set before us with joyful obedience! We would love to answer any questions you have and to know how we can be praying for you specifically. Please reach out through a connection card, phone call, or email.
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
