The Better High Priest

This week we will look at the closing verses of Hebrews Chapter 7. We have seen the picture of the priesthood of Melchizedek, and been called to understand that he served as a type that Jesus would later fulfill. Last week we looked at the better ministry of Jesus, and saw how he accomplished things that the Old Covenant priests never could. This week we close the chapter with two great truths that help us understand how Jesus is the guarantee of a better covenant. What makes Jesus so great? He is our permanent high priest, and he is our perfect high priest. But how is this different than the priesthood under the law? What difference does it make in our lives?
