This week we will finish the third warning passage in the Book of Hebrews. And after some difficult passages and serious words, our author reminds his beloved audience of the hope that he has for them. They needed the reminder even if it was hard to hear, and so do we. There are eternal consequences for falling away from Jesus Christ. But it was never the author’s intention to leave them wondering and hopeless. Instead, he wanted them to have the full assurance of hope that salvation should bring to God’s people. But where does hope come from? What keeps us from hope and assurance? And how do we know that our hope isn’t just wishful thinking? The answers to those questions are critical to finding lasting joy, even in difficult circumstances. We would love to know how we can be praying specifically for you. If you have a request, a need, or a praise to share, please let us know by filling out a connection card or sending us an email.
And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:11-12
