Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are less than a week from Christmas, and it’s hard to believe how fast the season has gone. Our prayer is that you have found encouragement, joy, and rest as we have thought about the constant faithfulness of God. He has kept His promises to His people, and we know that he will continue to. This week we come to the promise of a shepherd who will care for his flock. Although we might not love the comparison, we are very much like sheep. Our tendency is to wander, even to our own destruction. We are vulnerable to threats and need continual leading, guiding, provision, and protection. So how will God shepherd his people? Are human leaders, even faithful ones, enough to satisfy our need for a Good Shepherd? We would love to know how we can be praying for you specifically during this time.
Then I will set over them one shepherd, My servant David, and he will feed them; he will feed them himself and be their shepherd. And I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant David will be prince among them; I the Lord have spoken.
