The Source of our Strength

The Source of our Strength

Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are coming close to the end of our time in the Book of James. At this point in his letter, James gives some final instruction that centers around prayer. As Christians, we understand that prayer ought to be a priority in our lives. Jesus taught us how to pray, Paul taught us to pray without ceasing, and Revelation concludes with the prayers for the return of Christ. But why is prayer so vital to the spiritual life of the church? What circumstances distract us from prayer, and what truths help prevent that distraction? This passage takes us through prayer in different circumstances, prayer in times of weakness, and a powerful example of prayer in the life of the prophet Elijah. For James, a real, living faith is one that seeks communion with our heavenly father through prayer, as a body and as individual believers. We would love to know how we can be praying for you specifically.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
James 5:16
