The Way to Wisdom

The Way to Wisdom

This week we will open up the Book of Proverbs as we lay the foundation for our summer series. When we worked through James, we saw that God promised to give wisdom to those who ask for it. The primary way that God grants wisdom to his people is through his inerrant, authoritative, inspired word. The Book of Proverbs will show us what it looks like to live in practical righteousness. Over the next fourteen weeks, we will see how wisdom interacts with our desires, our tongues, our friendships, our families, and our workplaces. We will see how wisdom responds to worship, to correction, and to difficulty. But before we work through specific applications, we have to lay the foundation. Who wrote the Proverbs and what was their purpose? Is there a passage or verse that helps us understand where we have to begin and why? We would love to know how we can pray for you, or answer any questions that you might have.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7
