This is Love

This is Love

As we move into the final week of Advent, we light the candle symbolizing love. Our culture has trouble defining love. In fact, love might mean different things to different people at different times. But God has told us and shown us what love is. God Himself is the perfection of love. And he has demonstrated that love in sending his Son to be the sacrifice and substitute for our sins. In light of the unimaginable love of God, we are called to reflect that love in our own loves. Because God has changed our hearts, we can love others with the same sacrificial love that he demonstrated. So how does God’s love enable us to love others? And what would it look like if our goal this year was to love not only those who are easy to love, but those who are difficult? We would love to know how we can be praying for you specifically, or if there are any questions that we can answer for you.

By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.      1 John 4:9-10
