What Kind of Wisdom?

What Kind of Wisdom?

Welcome to Chapel City Church! Last week we looked at the untamable tongue, and the reality that our speech will be a reflection of our heart. This week, James will work through two types of wisdom. And while those two things might seem like separate topics, they are intimately related. How do we respond when things don’t go our way? How do we think about situations that don’t go the way that we think they should? The truth is that our understanding will drive our responses, and that understanding will demonstrate one of two kinds of wisdom. There is the wisdom of the world that produces the things of the world, and the wisdom from above that produces the righteousness that God calls for. So, do we consider ourselves wise? James calls on us to evaluate our heart motives and our outward actions to see whether our wisdom is seeking self, or seeking obedience. If you have any questions, or if there is a way that we can be praying for you specifically, please reach out and let us know!

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.  James 3:17
