IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

A search committee led by John Thomas has been formed to seek a 3/4-time Director of Children’s Ministries. Darcie King’s last Sunday here as DCM will be on August 27th. She’s getting married! Here’s where you come in. 1) Pray for the committee as we seek God’s person for the job. 2) Our best source of good candidates is you. If you know of people who have led children’s programs who might be interested, give them a call and suggest they consider the program. 3) Consider being part of a children’s ministry team to keep a vital program moving forward in the interim.

PRAY FOR OUR JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS AND STAFF AT CAMP

Pray for Andrew Zegan and staff daily as they head up to Camp Pondo with 15 jr. high students! We’re praying their lives will be marked forever! Pastor Chase Feindel of Daybreak Church in Carlsbad will chart a course in Romans 5. They’ll learn that we all need to be WRECKED – to allow the hurt of a damaged world and life itself to interrupt our hopes and dreams and exchange them for those of Jesus! Pray that students will discover the paradox of WRECKED: LIFE INTERRUPTED.

BRUSH ARBOR UNPLUGGED COMES TO SUMMER SPECIALS 7/26

Brush Arbor is back doing concerts; well sorta. A smaller group with Jim Rice, Mike Wilson and guest performer Lauren Donahue, singing their songs of inspiration and encouragement, intertwined with stories of laughter and upbeat messages. It’s like a breath of fresh air and cold water to parched lips. They’ll join us again this year next Wednesday so bring a friend for a great evening of food, great conversation, and entertainment.

SMALL GROUP LEADER TRAINING AUGUST 6 & 13, SECOND HOUR

Our midweek small group ministry is flourishing and we are excited about the startup in September. There’s a small group training for hosts and leaders on August 6 & 13. We want current leaders and hosts there to learn and share your expertise, and potential leaders and hosts to learn what’s involved. We want to form new groups in the fall!

LOOKING FORWARD TO SUNDAY

Sunday we look at two of the most important practical expressions of Christian living – loving your neighbor as yourself. We’ll see these through Galatians 6:1-6.
I’m looking forward to a great day in the Lord as we delve into the reality that the fruit of the Spirit is more than just a personal benefit; it shows up in others. Hope to see you in service Sunday!
