The Sunday Update | January 31, 2016

January 31st

For some of us the concept of rest is so far back in our past we’ve forgotten what it feels like. Spiritually, we feel dry, disconnected, and discouraged. There are reasons, and solutions. As we look into Hebrews 3:1 – 4:14, God speaks to us in terms that we long for; we just want to rest. Tomorrow we talk about how it’s done.

We will also feature our ABF ministry, the whats and whys that they can do for us. Don’t miss this special day!

Name Tag Sunday

Look for the tables in the courtyard, the Fellowship Hall, and the Portico to pick up a name tag. The point is to know and be known! Help others identify your name with a face and let’s get to know one another a little better.

Business Meeting – Sunday (1/31) @ 6 PM – Child care through 6th grade to help young families.

We have lots of news to share and will have updates about our ChapelCity Roll Out Celebration and our Visioning Team. We will also have updates regarding where we stand financially. With seven new members coming in, it will be a good chance to welcome them and to rejoice in God’s blessing here. Make plans to attend, whether you’re a member or not!

We’re looking for a Children’s Snacks Coordinator

Do you have a servant’s heart and a love for kids? We’re looking for a great behind-the-scenes person to purchase snacks and juice on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, then to stock the snack containers with snacks, cups, and napkins and put them in the classrooms on Saturdays or early Sunday mornings. All costs are reimbursed and children are more able to become Christ followers because someone cares enough to enhance their environment for learning. Contact Darcie King or the church office for more information.

Family Matters

We’re looking to keep our ministry vibrant and advancing and we need your help.

  1. If you have never committed to CEFC on a regular giving plan, consider getting on board. An automatic monthly giving plan builds consistency. We have online options on our website. Joining in the Lord’s work is a great joy.
  2. If you are a regular supporter and can participate more, please consider a special gift or a boost to your regular giving. We can erase this deficit! If your situation dictates that you can’t, the Lord knows and we understand! But we can all stand together in prayer that the ministry will move with the finances we need to support it.

Prepare your hearts and be praying for a great day on Sunday!

In Christ,
Jim
