Looking Back to Move Forward – Hebrews 13:7-25

If you think back over leaders who have impacted you in your walk with Christ, you realize that God has used many people to move you along the path. As we conclude our study in Hebrews, we’ll find that the influence that they had lives on if we are careful to pay attention. It’s a great look at how we respond to past and present leaders and how we can continue to move forward based on the input that we have received. Read through this important passage and pray that God will prepare all of us for a great Sunday together.

We’re also looking forward to a time of prayer and dedication as we send our Romania Team out this Sunday. We’ll have a chance to get the final update before they leave next week.

Fiesta Sunday & Beach Day – Modified schedule

  • First and second services – regular time; Child care provided birth through kindergarten
  • Third service cancelled.

The Beacon ABF has a beach day at Carpenteria Beach and we’re all invited. Here are the details from Amy Spence (text 805-750-1208 for questions).

  • We’re encouraging families to attend first service at 8:15 and then head up to Carpinteria Beach. It can be difficult to sit with younger kids through a service but it is a habit to encourage! I know what you must be thinking, “Packing for the beach AND attend first service, is she crazy?!” Yes it can be done!
  • Pack your car for the beach the night before!
  • Pack your younger kids an activity bag for church!
  • Pack your lunch & drinks for the beach
  • Invite a family or friend to church & the beach
  • Come to church in your modest beach cover up and untidy beach hair!
  • Praise the Lord through worship and be encouraged by the sermon!

Summer Specials July 13

Wednesday is a fellowship time with jumping houses for the kids (maybe even some big kids as well). We’ll start dinner at 6 pm with grilled hamburgers with all the trimmings. After dinner we’ll gather around our tables for some conversation starters if you need some, and a time of much-needed fellowship. This is your chance to connect with one another and renew some friendships!

FYI – Love Liberty Disco on stage at the Fiesta

Our own worship leader, Matt Grindstaff with his Newsboys Tribute Band will perform on the Bella Capri stage at 2 pm on Sunday. This is some great Christian input in a place where there is very little. If you haven’t gone to the beach, show up and give some support!

Don’t let Fiesta Days intimidate you into staying at home. I hope to see you in service on Sunday for a great time of worship and rejoicing for the influence that others have in our lives!

In Christ,
Jim
