The Sunday Update | February 5, 2017

It’s for freedom we’ve been set free!

In this final of three studies on freedom in Christ, we look out beyond ourselves. As our lives are transformed, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit, we become transformers under God’s direction. This amazing truth means that we are not the final destination of the fruit of the Spirit, we are the way point. This special Sunday we celebrate communion and the new freedom we have in Christ.

KIDS COMMUNION ON SUNDAY

Kids Communion is a special devotion and time in the service when we help our children (and all of us) pour more understanding and devotion into the service. Parents are invited to bring their children for part or all of the service. Should your child should take communion? Here’s a great resource.

FINANCES AT CHAPEL CITY

Following an encouraging December, January giving once again moved us into shortfall territory, (about $38,000 vs. $50,000 previous January). Let’s consider our part in the support of God’s work through consistent giving and one-time gifts. The benefits of giving God’s way are incredible!

FROM ALL THE STAFF

From all of us on staff to all of you – thank you so much for the love and support expressed through your Christmas gift to us. We are thankful to serve in such a giving church. May God bless you all!

The Staff (Andrew, Barbara, Darcie, Elaine, Jim, Ken, Matt, & Patrick)

SPECIAL BUSINESS MEETING February 19th – 12:00 pm

The Board of Elders announces a special business meeting February 19 at 12:00 pm following the second service. The staff restructuring proposal is the only agenda item. You can contact the church office for an absentee ballot, but at least 61 members must be present so please be there if possible.

With our special communion and a rewarding passage to look at, it promises to be a super Sunday. They say that there’s a super event happening later in the day but miss Sunday morning and you may miss a big event that can last more than a single day. We’re praying for an exceptional time. hope to see you in service.

In Christ,
