The Sunday Update | December 27, 2013

December 27th

I hope your Christmas celebration was meaningful, and that is was a time of great joy with family, friends, and reflection. Sunday we think about life once the celebration is over. We will look back at the family life of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus in the excitement of Christmas and the faithfulness that was required in the quiet years that followed. It’s a great lesson as we look forward to a new year and what God wants of us after the celebration. Read Matthew 2 and Luke 2 in order to get set your hearts for our study tomorrow.

12/27 Worship Plans

  • NO ABFs Sunday. We’re still basking in the afterglow from Christmas and will be taking a break this week only.
  • NO youth or children’s classes (above kindergarten) as we will all be meeting together for worship. It’s a great chance to be in worship as a family. We’ll be sure to have plenty of children’s worship bulletins available.

Staff Love Gift

December is the month the elders set aside for our church to say thank you to our staff for the great ministry they provide. If you would like to contribute please use the gift envelopes at the rear of the sanctuary or designate “staff love gift” on your checks.

Through the Bible in a Year

Join with us on an exciting trip through the Bible next year. While you can always go it alone, actually registering will help encourage you to keep it up and will allow you to encourage others. We’ll have a form in the bulletin or you can join the campaign by clicking here.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you still in town on this last Sunday of the year. I’m praying that God will use this time to set our hearts for a new year.

In Christ,
Jim
