April 3rd – Communion Sunday
Guilt is a terrible taskmaster. To pretend that true guilt doesn’t exist is like the sick one who avoids the doctor for fear of bad news. It doesn’t change anything; the disease just gets worse. Yet to be bound by it produces paralysis in relationship to God and to those around us. It robs us of self-worth, meaningful relationships, and satisfying service.
Sunday Patrick addressed Jesus, the best sacrifice that serves as a great backdrop to our communion service. You can read Hebrews 11: 11-14 as a backdrop to this important study.

There was a great article about our new name in the Acorn on Good Friday. You can check it out here if you missed it.
Special thanks for your prayer
Many have you have prayed for Barbara’s and my two-year-old granddaughter Mazie for a complex surgery to correct a congenital issue in the neck and ear. While the surgery was not life threatening, it was potentially life altering with facial nerves at risk. The surgery was Thursday the 31st at Stanford. After a seven-hour surgery, the two-doctor surgical team indicated that every aspect of the surgery was more complicated than expected and the outcome was everything they had hoped for with no damage to nerves. We praise the Lord for this and thank you for your prayers. We will be in Palo Alto through Sunday to support our kids and Mazie.
All-city prayer – Wednesday 12 pm – 1 – Chapel City Church
Join with believers from various churches in Camarillo on Wednesday in the Yellow House as we pray for our nation in preparation for the National Day of Prayer on May 5th in Camarillo. The agenda is prayer and the time is important!
With our passage and communion on Sunday, I am reminded of Hebrews 9:14: “How much more, then, will the blood of Christ … cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!” I’m praying that hearts will be moved to deep devotion and great thankfulness as we gather for worship on Sunday.
In Christ,
Jim
