Jesus Came to Restore Us

Wrongs committed and relationships broken; we’ve been on both sides of the fence. Whether we’ve been the one who was in the wrong and caused the breach, or we were the ones wronged. Things changed. It’s so much harder when we wronged God. Can we ever have the same intimacy? Sunday we’ll see the great answer as we look into John 21:15-23. There is a way back! just as there is a way back to God for us, we’ll see our responsibility as we seek to play that same role as restorer in the lives of others instead of condemner.

PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS AS THEY PLAN FOR NEW YEAR

It’s budget time when our leaders plan for the new fiscal year that begins in May. The budget seeks to balance ministry priorities with our level of giving income. Our challenge is to grow our ministry in a time when our giving is shrinking. Be in prayer that God will give wisdom to our elders and finance team as they lay plans for next year, and that God will move the hearts of our people toward greater giving as we seek to be a light to Camarillo and beyond.

I’m looking forward to Sunday as we participate in baptism and communion, the two great symbols that Jesus left us that build our faith and remind us of his presence in our lives. I pray you will make a special effort to be in service on Sunday as we are reminded not only of the restoration that God offers us, but also of the blessing of restoration that we can offer to others.

In Christ,
