The Sunday Update | April 10, 2016

April 10th

People talk about some who live in ivory towers; lots of lofty theory but little practical reality. As we gather Sunday, we encounter the mandate to draw near to God in Hebrews 10:19-25. Just hearing that phrase sends some into a frustrated cry, “But how do I do it?” Sunday we answer that question though the writer’s own words – no ivory towers, just reality. You may even be surprised to find out that it even should affect the way we do church. Join us for this study that talks about fundamental issues as to who we are and what we do.

Small group spring quarter begins next week.

Small groups are a way to grow in Christ and in relation to one another. These groups of 8-to-15 people are a key to making meaningful connections with people and ministering to one another. If you’re interested mark your ministry slip in the bulletin and we’ll get in contact with you.

All-city prayer – Wednesday 12 pm – 1 – Chapel City Church

We had a great time in the Yellow House last Wednesday with believers from various churches in Camarillo on Wednesday praying for our city and our nation. We are building toward the National Day of Prayer on May 5th. If you are available, come join us!

How many different ways can we answer the question “Why do we go to church?” I’m praying that Sunday we will have a biblical answer that changes the way we think about our gatherings together in large and small groups.

In Christ,
Jim
