The Sunday Update | March 1, 2015

Coming off of a great time with baptisms last week, we turn to Communion tomorrow. I believe it will be a great time as we dig back into the word in James 1:26-27. James talks about the “kidding-yourself religion” versus that which truly pleases God. As we approach the Communion tomorrow, I believe this message can really set our hearts for a meaningful celebration of Jesus!

Announcements & Updates

An update regarding Barbara

I hope you’ll forgive a personal moment but I wanted to thank you for your prayers and concern for Barbara, especially in light of our time last Sunday. Surgery is scheduled for Friday at Keck Medical Center at USC for a mass in Barbara’s right kidney. The doctors assure us that the prognosis is good and that probably no further treatment will be required beyond the surgery. Whether only part or all of the right kidney is removed won’t be known until the operation but in either case things are very positive. We are trusting the Lord during this time and resting in his will. Thanks again for your prayers and your expressions of concern in these days.

Daylight Saving Time begins 3/8- set your clocks ahead next Saturday night!

I’m anticipating a great Sunday with great friends! Let’s look forward to gathering together as we encourage one another to love and good works (Heb. 10:25).

In Christ,
Jim
