The Sunday Update | February 22, 2015

Sunday we’ll be hearing from Steve Larson in all three services. We will be putting our Christianity 101 series on hold for a week as we anticipate a great time in God’s word.

It will also be a very encouraging time as we see three of our own following the Lord in baptism. This picture of the work that Jesus has done in their lives will be inspiring to us all and a good reminder of this important way that Jesus has asked us to express our faith. The baptisms are during the first part of the second service so if you are a regular first-service attendee, why not hang around for the first portion of the second service to witness this important act.

I am anticipating a great day witnessing the grace of God in action as people demonstrate their faith through baptism. I am reminded of the great truth of Romans 6 and Galatians 2:28. Baptism symbolizes that Christ paid the price for our sins – we are buried with him being plunged into his death and raised to a new life. Thanks to God for this potent symbol!

In Christ,
Jim
