May 10th- Happy Mothers Day!

We hope to see you all tomorrow as we celebrate Mothers Day with a wonderful reception/brunch served up by Tom Glenn who always does such a great job for us. It’s a good time to gather between the services good conversation and good food!

In our Christianity 101 series in James, we will be looking at some rather surprising statements out of James 3:13-18 on who we should consider as wise ones. It a whom-should-you-trust message. As always, James gives us a down-to-earth test for clarity in a confusing world. I hope you will make a special effort to be there.

Announcements & Updates

2015-2016 Elder Nominees – Annual Meeting is in three weeks.

The CEFC Nominating Committee announces the nomination of David Holden and John Thomas as elder nominees for the 2015-2018 term. They will be presented to the congregation for ratification in the May 31st business meeting. More details to come.

Custodial Position

We have received few applications for our custodial position that begins June 1st. This position offers a good part-time job for someone willing to work and a degree of flexibility on hours. Details are on the ushers table in the foyer

THANKSGIVING

Thanks to your generosity in March and April, and the diligence of our staff, initial reports show that we wound up the year with a modest surplus and are looking for a great new fiscal year together. Your continued faithfulness is deeply appreciated! We’ll give more specific details later.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

In Christ,
Jim
