The Sunday Update | June 14, 2015

June 14th

Last week we got to read someone else’s mail as James wrote to some people who were far too enamored with their own riches. Along the way we saw that we, too, can be affected by materialism. Tomorrow we look at people who were suffering under the weight of people taking advantage of them. James leaps from the foundation of patience to some of the attitudes that flow from a hurting heart. Read over James 5:7-12 to prepare for this relevant challenge is today’s world.

A PERFECT STORM – A MORNING WITHOUT KIDS CLASSES?
(Don’s stop reading too soon!)

Youth camps, graduations, vacations, and illness have all come together to form the perfect storm tomorrow, 6/14, in our children’s ministries. We normally need 29 volunteers to run our Sunday morning children’s program both hours. WE HAVE ONE.

Here’s our plan as of now. We will have nursery and 2s & 3s and preschool both services, 2nd & 3rd grade 9:30 service only; for all other age groups, it will be church day for the kids. We’ve done it before, we’re just out of the habit. Don’t stay home; make it an adventure! For ABFs, you will want to make some special arrangements.

Here’s the alternative. If you are available to help, send her a text (949) 322-0843 or an email at darcie.j.king@gmail.com. From Darcie, here’s what we need to run our classes.

For our Elementary classes during the 9:30am service tomorrow I still need…
1 Teacher & 1 Helper in Kindergarten-1st grade class
1 Teacher & 1 Helper in 4th-5th grade class

I have volunteers for the 2nd-3rd grade class during the 9:30am service.

For our Elementary classes during the 11am service tomorrow still I need…
2 Helpers in the Kindergarten – 1st grade class
2 Helpers in the 2nd-3rd grade class
2 Helpers in the 4th-5th grade class
1 Large Group Lesson teacher

If some folks volunteer, we may be able to open some or all of the classes. Check your email later tonight; we’ll send out an update.

This is a special need. Let’s work to meet it!

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

In Christ,
Jim
