JOSHUA – MORE THAN JUST SURVIVAL

If you’ve ever found yourself in survival mode emotionally or spiritually, you know how helpless you can feel. As we begin a new study on the book of Joshua in Joshua 1 this Sunday, we begin a journey on the pathway to victorious Christian living. Our journey will be marked by important lessons, both positive and negative, but the key is that God wants us to do more than just survive – he wants us to thrive!

CONNECT / GROW / SERVE
SMALL GROUP LEADER TRAINING SUNDAY – SECOND HOUR

Small group leaders and hosts, you will be sharpening your skills Sunday in the second hour in the upstairs high school room. It’s not just for current leaders. If you’re interested in knowing what it takes to facilitate or host a group be sure to be there. We’re looking for good leaders that can help us grow this ministry. Let’s pray together that God will expand this ministry in the fall.

MOM TO MOM SWIM DAY
Next Monday, 10:00 – NOON

Don’t miss this chance to get to know other moms and our exciting Mom to Mom program beginning next month. Here are directions to the Holdens’ and registration forms for the fall program. NOTE: Moms & kids are on their own for snacks.

THANK YOU DARCIE!
Sunday, Aug 27th – Fellowship Hour

Plans are underway for a great farewell to Darcie, our Director of Children’s Ministries. She’s getting married! We want to have a special time of thanks so we’re adjusting our service times to honor more than three years of faithful service. It’s a good chance to have your kids write and read some thank yous and a good opportunity for us all to appreciate the fine work she has done. Plan to be there.

SPEAKING OF CHANGE …

We’re on the hunt for a new Director of Children’s Ministries and the Search Team is working diligently to fill the position. We’re planning a special Children’s Ministries day with a revised schedule on September 10th to redouble our commitment to our kids and our church. Plan to be there. In the meantime we have a schedule for all of us to check to effectively minister to our kids in the interim and beyond. You can check it out by clicking here.

On Sunday the high school students are honoring our graduated seniors with a Senior Sundae – an ice cream social during the Fellowship Hour. Take time to congratulate our grads and encourage them in their next steps in life!

I am excited as we begin our studies in Joshua. I believe that God is going to use these studies in a great way as we ponder his direction in our personal lives and in our church. Plan to be in service on Sunday.

In Christ,
