The Sunday Update | November 22, 2015

A thankful heart to God flows from a recognition of God’s love, his protection and his provision for us. Thanksgiving week is a great time to recognize that our proper response to God’s love is to love one another in the same way that he loved us. Is that really possible – to love as Jesus loved? If it’s going to happen, the way we love needs to change by learning to love well. Take some time to read John 3:11-24 to prepare your heart for a great time as Patrick opens the word to us tomorrow. We want this week of thanksgiving to be more than sentimentality; we want to grow in love for one another as an expression of our thanks to God.

Turkey Bowl – Thursday 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. – Valley Lindo Park

Don’t miss a great time Thursday morning as our adult and student athletes show their skills at our annual Turkey Bowl flag football game. Whether-or-not you decide to play, we’ll all have a great time cheering them on (and getting rid of some of those calories to follow)!

Youth Christmas Banquet Tickets on Sale! (12/11-12/2015)

It’s one of the best nights of the year so don’t miss the chance for a wonderful evening to open your Christmas celebration with friends. Bring someone along to introduce them to CEFC! $20 per person gives you a great evening and helps our student ministries.

Christmas Shoe Box Deadline Approaching – 12/1

If you haven’t picked up your shoe box for our Mexico outreach, be sure to do it tomorrow. Shoe boxes need to be in by the end of the month.

We are entering into our holiday season, I am praying that you will take the opportunity to think about a friend whom you might bring along with you to introduce them to God. Word-of-mouth is the most effective way that people are introduced to Jesus Christ through his church. Invite them to “come and see” during a time of year when people are a little more prone to say yes.

In Christ,
