A look at Ephesians 4:17-24 shows two ways of living. We could compare them to living in dirty, polluted air, or living in a fresh, clean atmosphere. Unfortunately, without giving it a second thought, we often stay put in the smog and pay a heavy price. This foundational message will move us to step out of the old and into the new. With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. They have no sense of shame.
