In Matthew 16, Jesus promised that he would build his church, and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. In Acts 1 and 2, we learned that the church is composed of believers, and that believers are filled with the Holy Spirit. And this changes everything about our lives together. But what does the filling of the Spirit mean for our mission? How does he enable, equip, and empower us to go and make disciples?
And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
