Zechariah’s song represents the overture to the birth of Christ through John the Baptist in Luke 1:67-79. This great prophecy points to the reality that even for the coming of Christ, God partnered with humanity to bring the gospel to a lost world. God’s willingness to use us all in his mission is truly amazing! We’ll cap our morning celebrating communion together as we continue on our journey to bring the truth of Christmas to our world.
And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David. (Luke 1:67-69 ESV)
