Good morning and welcome to our celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ! This is the most pivotal event in human history. We lived at war with the God who created us, rebels by nature and by choice. Easter Sunday calls us to peace. Not because of who we are or what we have done, but because of what Christ accomplished through his death, burial, and resurrection. Through his death, he bore our sins in his own body on the cross. He satisfied God’s justice and stood in our place. But death was not the final word. As Christ was raised to life, he gave us a hope that is living. His resurrection is the guarantee of our resurrection. But what does that mean? How does the resurrection of Christ matter every day, and not just one Sunday during the year?
