Expecting the Unexpected

Expecting the Unexpected

As we come to the concluding verses of Matthew 24, Jesus has begun to address the timing of his return. Although he does not give details about the day or the hour, he does indicate that people will be caught off guard. The instruction given to his disciples, and to disciples of every age, is to wait for his coming with eager anticipation. But how do we live in readiness for the King’s return? What are the consequences for not being ready? If you have specific prayer requests, please let us know so that our prayer team and elders can be praying for you.

But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Matthew 24:43-44
