Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are thankful that you have joined us for our time of corporate worship today. We are moving into our study of the Book of Galatians, and Paul wastes no time getting to his point. After his very brief introduction, he expresses his shock at their abandonment of the gospel message. They have apparently been pulled away by teaching that attempts to combine grace and the law, saying that salvation is completed by the works that you do. In Paul’s mind, this isn’t just a different perspective on the gospel message. This is no gospel at all. But why does it matter if we are specific about the gospel? But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!
