He is Risen!

He is Risen!

Thank you for joining us for our time of worship here at Chapel City Church. We would love to know how we can come alongside you, no matter where you are in life. If there’s a way that we can be praying for you, please use the connection cards to let us know, or stop by our prayer room after service. As we continue our study of Matthew’s gospel today, we come to the last chapter. From the opening verses of his writing, Matthew has helped us understand who Jesus is. He is the King whose authority is unlike any other. He is the Son of God, divine and worthy of worship. He is the savior who will die so that his people might be restored to a right relationship with God. And today, we come to the single most important event in human history. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the lynchpin and focal point of the Christian faith. But why does it matter? How did it happen, and how should we respond?

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:5-6
