He Who is Mighty

He Who is Mighty

Merry Christmas, and welcome to Chapel City Church! Tonight, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. But this is so much more than the story of an overlooked baby born into obscurity. It’s more than angels and shepherds, more than wisemen and their gifts. This is when we remember the fact that the God of all creation sent his son into the world. The infinite and eternal took on flesh and walked among us. That’s why Jesus would be called Immanuel, God with us. Our sin separated us from God, and nothing that we could do would ever bridge that gap. We were lost, dead in our sin, and facing the right and righteous judgment of God. But then, God made a way. That baby born in Bethlehem would live in perfect obedience to God. He would teach, he would heal, he would call people to turn from their sin. Ultimately, he himself would die for the sins of his people. The baby that was born in humility would continue to humble himself so that we might be called sons and daughters of God. We have much to celebrate! If you have any questions, or if you would like someone to pray with you and for you, please reach out and let us know.
