HOLDING THE LINE, staying the course, finishing well are phrases in our vocabulary because it is so tough to do. Examples are all around us of people who started out well in life, in marriage, in faith, or in so many other endeavors but got tripped up. Sunday Paul challenges Timothy (and us) to stay the course and gives us resources to do so. Be here for this great challenge from 1 Timothy 1:18-20. Don’t forget that communion Sunday will be a great capstone to our service as we dedicate ourselves anew!
This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, (1 Timothy 1:18-19 ESV)
