Kings & Kingdoms

Kings & Kingdoms

Good morning, and welcome to Chapel City Church. This week, please be in prayer for our middle school and high school students as they attend their winter retreat. Our hope is that they will grow in their relationship with the Lord and in their relationships with one another during this time away. As we open God’s word, we come back to the writing of the prophet Zechariah. Chapter 9 moves us forward in time toward the end of the prophet’s life. He receives an oracle or burden from the Lord that deals with a coming deliverance of God’s people. That deliverance is tied to two kings, but they are very different. What kind of deliverance is coming? How does knowing history remind us of the faithfulness of God? What do we anticipate at the end of human history? We would love the opportunity to answer any questions that you have, or to know how we can be praying for you specifically.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
    Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you;
    righteous and having salvation is he,
humble and mounted on a donkey,
    on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Zechariah 9:9
