Listening When It Hurts is a painful experience, especially when it comes from a friend. We would much rather hear the words that reinforce our current course, even if the person speaking doesn’t have our best interests at heart. Sunday in Galatians 4:8-20 we’ll see some principles that will help all of us when we need to listen through the pain instead of running away. It’s a crucial theme that demands God’s wisdom if we are to do it right.
But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more? Galatians 4:9 ESV
