“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” The amazing thing about the gospel, indeed a stumbling block for many, is the truth that Jesus saves us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy. He calls us to believe in him, to trust in him, that he is is our great God and Savior. But if Jesus saves, if all we do is believe, then what motivates us to follow Jesus as disciples, to live obediently to him, and to persevere to the end? We’ll focus this week on the time in which we live: the Light has come into the world… and he is returning!
Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.
