Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are so glad that you have joined us for our time of worship this week. If there is a way that we can be praying for you, or a need that we might be able to meet, please reach out and let us know. This week we will continue in Matthew 11 as Jesus addresses the gathered crowd. He speaks about the greatness of John the Baptist, and about his unique role in redemptive history. Although there are some difficult things in our passage, it is clear that Jesus expected them to know and understand who John was and why he did the things that he did. But why was it so important for the people to understand John and his ministry? How does understanding John help us understand Jesus? And what does all of this say about the state of the crowds who consistently follow the Christ?
Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
